Jaromir
 

Jaromir Jezek

Mr. Ježek has taught in several countries including Germany, France, Japan, and Taiwan. In the year 1992 he founded The Language House, one of the first private language schools in Prague after the Velvet Revolution. He speaks several languages including Russian, German, French, English, Japanese, and Chinese.

 
Chris
 

Chris Westergaard

Chris was born in Brussels Belgium and then at the age of two moved to New York and then later Minnesota. Chris has been teaching EFL since 2001 and has taught in Vienna and Prague as well as tutored students in English for the University of Minnesota. Chris is primarily interested in Educational 
Psychology as well as integrating modern EFL methodologies. Chris is the head trainer and course developer at The Language House and will be your main contact person during your training. Known for his dynamic classroom approach, Chris believes that creativity with an equal part of both structure and spontaneity is crucial for both student acquisition of language and teacher development.

 
John
 

John Hanes

John Hanes has 3 years of TEFL experience teaching at Charles University and the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic.  He has an extensive academic background in the psychology, philosophy, and cognitive neuroscience of language.  He has worked first hand in the scientific investigation of chimpanzee language cognition at the Ohio State University Primate Center in addition to providing therapy for the improvement of the language functioning of autistic children. His hobbies include international travel, foreign language learning, chess, playing guitar, and athletics.

 
Alice
 

Alice Kulstrunkova

Alice is a graduate of Charles University in German and has been teaching German and Czech for the last six years. ALice is the head German/Czech teacher at the Language House and is respected for her ability to teach beginner levels. Alice says "I think it's great that people want to learn Czech and I am happy to teach new people".

 
Monika
 

Monika Drazanova - Billing and Logistics

Monika has been with The Language House since 2003 and overseas all of the billing for the both TEFL and language courses. Monika enjoys the outdoors and is studying to pass the CAE English Exams for advanced speakers. Monika says "I like working with foreigners and I think its great that they are interested in Czech culture."

     

Peter M. Luketic

Pete, an Ohio native, comes to The Language House and Prague from Germany where he translated for the US Military. He has attended the University of Zagreb, Croatia and The Ohio State University where he studied Slavic Languages and Linguistics. Pete currently runs his own translation and English teaching services business in Prague.

 
Skip Potts
 

Skip Potts

Skip Potts has been at The Language House since February 2006 teaching TEFL.  Before his time in Prague he taught Mathematics and did graduate research in Mathematics and Applied Behavioral Analysis at the University of Nevada, Reno.  He has had work published as an Undergraduate in Combinatorics/Graph Theory.  Althoug Skip’s background is in Mathematics he says, “Teaching English is much more rewarding than my other teaching experiences, you aren’t just teaching a language, you are opening up a new world for people.”  Skip works as Job Assistance, Trainer, Coordinator and Lesson Plan Assistance on the course.

 
Kim
 

Kim Zollitsch

Kim has lived and worked in Prague since 2004 at the Faculty of Science at Charles University. She teaches general and ESP courses for undergraduates and postgraduates and is involved in online tuition and course development. Before coming to Prague she worked as an ESL teacher and English Literacy instructor for 3 years in Fairbanks, Alaska. She enjoys working with diverse students and since 2006 has assisted in The Language House TEFL training program. When not in the classroom, Kim may be found in Žižkov with her dog, Basho.

 
Rachel Kertis
 

Rachel Kertis

Course Contact

Rachel Kertis is from Portland, Oregon and has spent the last several years living and studying in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Copenhagen, Denmark. She is a recent graduate of The Language House TEFL course, and currently teaches at two language schools in Prague, including The Language House itself. Rachel enjoys traveling, learning new languages, and working with people, especially kids.
