Aside from giving top quality teacher training, The Language House TEFL is also dedicated to helping our graduates find employment in either Prague, the Czech Republic, or worldwide. Job assistance at TLH TEFL involves a variety of components to help you get employed as soon as possible after the course. We are proud to say that we have a success rate of around 95 percent for our passing graduates in Prague and nearly 100 percent for Asia. This includes Americans and Canadians and other English speaking graduates without an EU passport. One thing to note, be wary of any provider that offers in bold letters Guaranteed Job – they don’t exist. If you contact them and ask what this actually implies, they will quickly tell you that in no circumstance will you get any refund if you in fact do not find employment. If you can’t back a guarantee up with anything, is it really a guarantee? Slogans are great to sell things, but it is the training you get, the work you put in and the services from the course that really matter. No two TEFL courses are created equally. Research the course you want to take and find out exactly what they do to help you find work during the course and after its completion. Then have them back that up by asking them to connect you with recent graduates of the course. In general, most of our TEFL graduates find employment in the city within 1-3 weeks after graduating the TESOL/TEFL course. How we achieve such a fast employment rate is due to our small class sizes, personal contact and simply because we offer almost twice the amount of teaching practice than most other TEFL programs in the region or abroad. We are also tightly knit community of teachers and graduates of the program that believe in helping each other years after graduation. It is this last feature of our course, our network, which allows you to find TEFL jobs, advice and friends in practically any country worldwide. Online graduate forumsThe Language House TEFL has a variety of online forums where graduates connect with each other and help each other all over the world. We have forums for all of our graduates that are currently teaching in Prague as well as Asia. This is a great resource to connect with teachers that are currently overseas and learn from their experience. Our graduates are great and they go out of their way to help new and experienced teachers find employment worldwide. Partner schoolsThe Language House TEFL shares its space with two prominent language schools in the city – Presto Languages and Spusa Education Center. Both of these schools respect our training methods/curriculum and hire our graduates when they have openings. We also have close to a decade of cooperation with other major language schools in the city. Worldwide recruitersWe work with a variety of large organizations and recruiters worldwide that will help you get employed all over the world. We have many recruiters that we use for countries all over Asia to help our students find top paying employment in China, South Korea, Japan and many other Asian countries. If you believe that taking a TEFL course with us is only limited to teaching in Prague, think again. Since we are actually accredited and externally monitored, our certificate can be used pretty much anywhere worldwide as a valid TEFL/TESOL qualification. These packets include schools in the area, contacts of past graduates working there, living conditions, average salaries and the general teaching environment. The information is public and every TEFL trainee has access to them from the start of the course. CV preparationWe help write, review and redraft all trainee CV/resumes during the third week of the course. This also includes assisting with cover letters. |
Guest speakersDuring the course it is common for large TEFL organizations to visit us and give presentations to current course students. The largest TEFL organization we work with is EF – English First – who recruit TEFL certified teachers to teach all over the world. Mock interviewsDuring the last week of the course we conduct individual mock interviews with all trainees to simulate what it might be like on your first interview. These interviews take about 15 minutes and cover questions related grammar and methodology. Student networkThe Language House TEFL is a closely-knit program and it is common for past graduates to help out new graduates of the course. This can entail anything from sending advice about a country to a new graduate or actually setting up a job interview in a different country. This means that if you want to work in a more exotic location, we probably can connect you with a past graduate who is there. It all makes the process a lot easier.
