The Language House changed my life. I got my TEFL certification in summer 2006, and the course, while extremely intense, gives you all the necessary tools to teach English to any age or level. I cut my TEFL teeth that first year in Prague, where one student brought me in to his circle of friends and another took me on business trips to Vienna and sailing in Croatia.
In 2007, I followed my heart to Barcelona, Spain, where I taught English for two years at a local school. It was very easy to find work and I loved teaching in Spain, where the weather is mostly warm, sunny and dry. Ah, life on the Mediterranean! It was there that I met my husband, fell in love and got married. In 2009 we moved to Mallorca, an island off the coast of Spain, where I taught year-round giving private lessons, as well as teaching at a language school and summer camp. In October 2010 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and was fortunate to be able to teach privately at home while the baby napped.
When I first went to Prague to get my TEFL certificate, I never dreamed how far that would take me, but it was the most amazing experience of my life, afforded me to live and travel extensively throughout Europe, and gave me my new family. Five years later I look how far I’ve come and know that it all started with The Language House.
