Teaching Kids

In recent years, there has been an explosion in the demand for EFL teachers for YLTs (Young Learners and Teens) all over the world. In response, TLH TEFL has developed a unique option to help prepare teachers who are interested in working with children and teens.

TLH TEFL Young Learners and Teens Track

Our goal is to provide you with the fundamental tools you’ll need to be effective in the classroom and competitive in the job market.

We offer a specialized, accredited YLT track during the last week of the month-long TEFL course. YLT track participants will attend 8 90-minute sessions focused on teaching young learners aged 2 to 17 instead of the regularly scheduled classes. This will function as an add on certificate to give you a specialized qualification for teaching young learners, and will give you the edge when applying to jobs to work with them.

Course Content

  • Introduction to YLT/Ages and Stages
  • Methodology
  • Lesson Planning
  • Classroom Management
  • Materials and Skills Practice
  • Teaching Preschoolers
  • Teaching Tweens/Teens
  • YLT Resources

What is the YLT certificate?

The YLT certificate is accredited by IATQuO (International Accreditation of TESOL Qualifying Organizations). Participants will be assessed on a variety of skills and tasks throughout the course. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a signed and stamped certificate confirming their achievement and detailing the length and content of the course. The YLT certificate functions as an add on certificate to the TEFL certificate course and participants must have or must be participating in a TEFL certificate course before being accepted as an applicant.
